Hydro excavation is also known as daylighting, vacuum excavation, hydro vac excavation, hydro digging, hydro trenching,
soft digging and sucker truck. It is a safer alternative to traditional machine excavation and is done by cutting the ground
with pressurized, heated water. The water and cut material are vacuumed into a debris tank, leaving a clean, precise dig.
Unlike conventional digging methods, most often the hydro excavator is still on the road leaving only a trench or hole to
repair, unlike other equipment that can result in thousands of dollars of repair costs. The hydro excavation method is very precise, non destructive, clean, and quick. By using this method, there is no breaking of cables, gas lines, fibre pipes, etc.
This is the future of digging around utilities: It’s safe and will result in lower costs and faster performance.
1-SAFETY
• 24/7 operators go through full training procedure
• 24/7 equipment goes through the garage weekly
• 24/7 only hires experienced operators
2-NOISE REDUCTION
• hydro excavators can be extremely noisy but
we have chosen to order all 24/7 trucks with the
equipment in an insulated silencer cab to reduce
noise by approximately two thirds
3-REMOTE EXCAVATION
• 24/7 has a trailer preloaded to go behind our
trucks with all equipment for remote work
4-PRODUCTIVITY
24/7 trucks…
• are ordered with the largest vacuum blower
• have the largest burner for heating water
• have a high water pressure and are capable of turning it down
• have an axle configuration that allows for the highest net weight
of material in the tank by thousands of pounds
• carry a large assortment of wands, cut heads, nozzles, chain saws,
pry bars, pruners, and more to help maximize production
• have vibrators on the tanks for quicker dumps and a faster
return to job
• have the longest and offset boom to reach further
• have insulated and heated cabinets to prevent the components
from freezing
